25. The Sun

25. The Sun

A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

Too good for you.

"

Once I was trapped in your claws

Forced to obey your laws

I didn't have a means of escape

You had my every move on tape

I was confined to a cage

Subjected to your rage

You never let me see the sun

You threatened me with your gun

Then one day I grew strong

I don't know what took me so long

I found the strength I needed to leave

Now I know what to believe

I won't be tied down again

I'm comfortable in my own skin

You don't control me anymore

The sun is waiting for me outside your door
