42. Wherever You Are

42. Wherever You Are

A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

It's never too late to come home.

"

I wonder where you are

And if it’s beautiful where you are

Is it hot in the summer there?

And are there lots of trees?

Does it rain everyday or is it sunny?

I wonder if you're satisfied

And if you’ve finally found your happiness

Do you ever wonder about your family?

And everything that you left behind?

Do you ever wish that you'd stayed?

So many memories of you I'll never have

So many moments that you'll miss

It feels strange to say that you are my family

When I hardly know a thing about you

And I’ve never even met you

I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t wish you were here

It hurts to think that you don’t want to be

You know it really isn't fair

That I'm the one paying the price

But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish you were happy

It would be enough for me just to know

That you're satisfied with your life

And even if we never get to share any memories

I’ll never stop hoping that you'll find your way home

From wherever you are

Author's Note

Haley Lynn Thomas
The poem this person is about is the same one as number 41, only this one is softer, gentler, nicer. I wrote this when I was sad as opposed to angry.
