58. Sidelines

A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

Don't wait around for chances.

"

've spent my whole life on the sidelines

Waiting for my chance to shine

I know they'd be impressed

If only they could see what I can do

Yes, I'm small

But size doesn't matter

It's all about the attitude

You're a winner if you believe you are

Don't spend your life on the sidelines

Waiting for your turn to shine

Stand and say “Hey, look at me,

I've got something to prove to all of you”

Now I'm no longer waiting

I've reached my full potential

Like a flower in bloom

This is my time to shine

Author's Note

Haley Lynn Thomas
I've written and rewritten this poem about a dozen times. What I was trying to say is that if you never try you will never succeed. You have to go for it, put yourself out there. Don't wait for an opportunity to come, create your own.
