61. Probably

61. Probably

A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

There's no maybe about it.

"

You probably moved on long ago

You probably found yourself another girl

And she's probably better for you than I was

You probably fight a lot less

You probably bought her a ring

You probably already moved in her things

And you probably took my picture down from the mantel

And replaced it with hers

You're probably eating dinner and laughing

The way that you and I once did

You're probably watching my favorite movie on TV

Snuggled up on the couch where I once sat beside you

You're probably telling her the same things you told me

You're probably making the same promises

And she's probably believing you like I once did

She's probably falling for the same old moves

You probably fight with her a lot less

But it's probably less passionate

And you probably bought her a ring

But you probably still have my picture hidden somewhere

Author's Note

Haley Lynn Thomas
Most of the rest of these poems are not going to be about me. I am a creative writer which means I made up stories and characters, most of these poems are about characters. As I say, every poem tells a story. Some of them will be based on people who I know, but I will not be saying which ones.
