62. HoardA Chapter by Haley Lynn ThomasIt's hard to let go.It started out with a simple clutter And it only grew from there She couldn't walk three steps Without tripping and falling And breaking a hip
Sweetest old lady you'd ever meet She'd lost her husband and her son And the only way she knew how to move on Was to fill the void they left With material possessions
To condemn her home It filled with rats and cats And useless junk everywhere you look But to her it's everything
And she says they don't understand They can't take it all away Even though she doesn't know What most of it is She finds a reason to keep it all
But it's not really the stuff she needs It's really only hurting her But she can't see that She doesn't understand Because in her mind it's all alright
Sweetest old lady you'd ever met She'd lost her husband and her son And she'd tried to replace them with material things She couldn’t see the danger Until the day she broke her hip © 2012 Haley Lynn ThomasAuthor's Note
