66. Eyes

66. Eyes

A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

A dying wife's letter to her husband.

"

Think of me when you make pancakes

In every step that she takes

Go to all her soccer games

Learn all her friend's names

There will be times you wish I was there

You'll say “God, this isn't fair”

So just hold her when she cries

See me when you look into her eyes

I've left her in your capable hands

So guide her across all the lands

And don't be afraid to let her fly

Otherwise she'll never reach the sky

There will be times she'll ask about me

Tell her that she holds the key

As long as she lives so will I

As long as she lives I'll never die

Author's Note

Haley Lynn Thomas
Probably my favorite rhyming poem that I've written. I don't write rhyming poems because I feel like they restrict me, but I like the way they sound.
