68. Trust

68. Trust

A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

I finally do.

"

Now I don't mean to sound insecure

Please, don't take this the wrong way

It's not that I don't trust you

Because I really do

I just can't help it

Because I've been lied to before

He never kept any of his promises

And I can't go though that kind of heartbreak again

I resist the urge to call you

And barrage you with text messages

Demanding to know where you are

And who you're with

But then you're always there to soothe my fears

Saying “Don't you dare feel insecure

Not someone as beautiful as you

Because I'd never lie to you”

And I can't help but feel reassured

I know you'll never be like he was

And I won't ever have to go through that again

Because I've found someone whom I can trust
