85. So Over It

85. So Over It

A Chapter by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

Where it all began.

"

Maybe someday you’ll realize

That you made a mistake

When you went and broke my heart

And maybe then you will come back to me

Get down onto your kneex

And beg me to take you back

And when that day comes around,

Don’t you come around

Beause you’re not welcome here anymore

You had your chance and you ruined it

And now Baby, I’m just so over it

I’m so over all the fighting

The lies and the deceit

I’m so over all of the promises that you never keep

Baby, I’m not going to take your words anymore

I’m not going to take the blame anymore

I’m through with all of your cheating games

And I’m through will all of your lying ways

Baby, I don’t believe a word that you say anymore

Because I’ve heard it all a hundred times before

And now I’m sick and tired of all of the lonely Saturday nights

And I’m sick and tired of all of the disappointments

And I’m sick and tired of the smiles and everything that you fake

And now Baby, I’m just so over you

Author's Note

Haley Lynn Thomas
So last night I found my old poems, the first ones I wrote about five years ago when I was fifteen. I was so excited because these poems are my history. Most of them aren't about me, but their tone indicates how I was feeling when I wrote them. Middle school and early high school were arguably the worst, darkest days of my so far. I think that reflects in my poetry. I was angry, sad, and frustrated. While most people wouldn't want to be reminded of this, to me it is a symbol of how far I've come as a writer and has a person. I'm in such a better place now and my writing has greatly improved. This particular poem is about a character who I made up for one of my stories. I write poems for nearly every character I come up with. This was actually the very first poem I ever wrote.
