Why Bother

Why Bother

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

Talking it over with someone else

On a strange couch

In a strange house

She came to realize

You can't take back your past

Go back to the night when it all went wrong

You can't change wht happened

Or everything said afterward

Thinking about it later that night

The question her friend had asked

The answer she hadn't had

SHe came to realize

It was too late to say "I'm sorry"

When he thinks she's crazy

He'll run away every time

She tries to say "hi"

Talking about it with someone else

She came to a realization

You can't get back what's lost

So why bother trying?
