GoodbyeA Poem by Haley Lynn ThomasA poem written for two peopleUnderneath all this anger Is a pain I can't deny My chest is throbbing WIth this incessant ache
Underneath all this hatred Is a tiny voice That is growing louder Saying "I miss you"
BUt I don't want to face The hurt struggling to escape It was easier just blaming you Than to admit we were equally wrong
Goodbye to a friendship Goodbye to our long talks Goodbye to my confidant Goodbye to me wasting my time
But underneath the "whatever" And me saying "I don't need you, anyway" Is a thiny reminder Of how things used to be between us
Before things turned sour When we were still okay Now I desired some sort of closure ANd I deserved some kind of explination
I gave you too much credit I had too high expectations One thing I've learned from this disaster Is you don't always know who you can trust
I don't know why they call it goodbye This one is more of a sad one I never thought I'd be saying goodbye Not just once, but twice © 2012 Haley Lynn Thomas |
