Here I am, There You Are

Here I am, There You Are

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

opposite sides of the spectrum

"

Here I am bragging to my family

“Hey, isn’t he a good one?”

Here I am mapping out our futures

Planning all the places where we're going to live

Here I am already thinking about

How beautiful our children are going to be

And here I am saying to my friends

“I guess sometimes you just get lucky”

But there you are talking to your family

“I'm not so sure about her”

But there you are plotting your escape

Wondering how do I get out of this one?

And there you are already thinking about

How you're going to break my heart

And there you are saying to your friends

“I guess sometimes you just get it wrong”
