Doubt

Doubt

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

It gets old

Having everybody doubt me

I guess just because I’m young

That means I don’t know anything

It gets old

Constantly being talked down to

I’ve been here for a year

But you’d think it was my first day

It gets old

Fighting back tears because of you

It’s really tiring

Having to prove myself over and over again

I wish you’d have faith in me

I wish you’d stop trying so hard

To find imaginary reasons why I’m wrong

That gets really old

I’m becoming frustrating

I’ve written one too many of these

I think I know what I’m doing

And I hate that you're making me doubt myself
