a little 8 minute poem.

Maybe it’s time for me to accept

That this hurt isn’t going anywhere

I can push it to the back of my mind

But it’s always there waiting for an inopportune moment

 

Maybe it’s time for me to accept

That I never really got over you in the first place

And I can pretend that I don’t care what you do

But what does it matter when you know it’s not true?

Maybe it’s time for me to accept

That you moved on many years ago

While I’m still stuck replaying the past every night

And it’s not healthy or productive

 

I know it’s time for me to accept it

But I don’t know how to forgive myself or you

But I don’t want to sit up in my room crying about it

So instead I sat down and wrote you this poem
