Listen to What I've Got to Say

Listen to What I've Got to Say

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

This poem was written in pieces. i wrote a few lines went to do something else and came back to it for about five times so hopefully it doesn't sound to disjointed.

"

I want to be seen

I want to be heard

I’m tired of being drowned out

Of coming in third

First comes your ego

Second is her

Maybe if I’m lucky

Next I’ll get my turn

I feel invisible

My megaphone is broke

I could scream

For all the good it does me

How do I stand out?

Would you hear me if I shout?

I’m getting lost in this crowd

I can’t find my voice

First comes your ego

Second is her

But I’m done being third

Now you’re going to listen to me

I’ve got a lot to say

I’ve bottled it all up inside

Now excuse me while I go to find

Someone who might actually care

Not a bad poem considering it was written in pieces. There were a few things that broke up the flow of the poem, but it wasn't too bad. Overall, a good read.
