Let Me Down

There are people in your life you repeatedly let you down, and that's what this poem is about.

Let it be known

That you’re consistent

You never fail

To let me down

 

You never stop

Breaking my heart

I can always count of you

To rip me apart

When I’m feeling up

You bring me back down

You never run out

Of ways to insult me

 

You’re never there

When I need you most

Yet I keep running

In your direction

 

I keep expecting

You to change

I’m holding my breath

Until I turn blue

 

I keep hoping that

You’ll accept me

For who I am

For my decision

 

But every time

It ends the same

You let me down

I run back to you again
