AbandonA Poem by Haley Lynn ThomasI miss your laughter As it mixes with mine I miss how you took care of me When I was your priority
I miss you doing anything To put a smile on my face I miss your arms being wide open To catch me when I stumble
You promised me you’d be there So where did you go? Honey, I took a leap of faith My heart got broken when I landed
How could you leave me stranded? You save me just to abandon When you decide we’re too much work And surrendering is just easier
Now the sound of your laughter No longer mixes with mine Do you see this mess you’ve created? I won’t help you sweep it up
You don’t care now, do you? You already walked out the door So the next time your arms are open I’ll fall into his instead © 2014 Haley Lynn ThomasReviews
