AGA Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
It was over a decade ago We were in the fifth grade I doubt you even remember it I bet you don’t even remember my name
You’d never been very kind to me I had no reason to expect you to be Then you said something I can’t forget Something that negated all the rest
I could tell you were sincere It wasn’t your usual mocking tone You really meant the words you spoke The words I can still hear echoing
You didn’t realize the impact That simple comment had on me You didn’t understand the impression You were leaving when you spoke it
I bet you don’t even remember it We were only ten at the time I’m sure to you it didn’t meant that much But know to me it meant everything © 2014 Haley Lynn Thomas |
