Never Been Kissed

Never Been Kissed

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

Twenty two and never been kissed

I remember the times when

That was all I wanted in this life

The feel of some boy’s lips on mine

Now I have higher aspirations

I’ve got bigger dreams to attend to

What I aim to one day accomplish

Doesn’t require a man by my side

Yes, hands are nice to hold

But I’ve got two of my own

For now I’m alright being on my own

I’ve got a lot going on at the moment

Twenty two and never been kissed

Perhaps I should be embarrassed

But I don’t have the time or energy

To care what you think of me
