Last ChristmasA Poem by Haley Lynn ThomasAs I watch him string the lights And decorate the tree I can’t help but think Is this my last Christmas?
We gather around the table Hold hands in prayer We say for what we’re grateful And I say to be alive
On Christmas Eve we go to church To learn the story of His birth I can’t help but wonder Will I be meeting Him soon?
If this is my last Christmas Then make me a promise Next year you’ll still celebrate Next year you’ll still decorate
Top the tree with an angel Let her be a reminder That I’m up in heaven now Watching over you © 2014 Haley Lynn Thomas |
