EyesA Poem by Haley Lynn ThomasA woman's deathbed letter to her husbandThink of me when you make pancakes In every step she takes Go to all her soccer games Learn all her friend's names
You'll say “God, this isn't fair” So just hold her when she cries See me when you look into her eyes
Guide her across the lands And don't be afraid to let her fly Otherwise she'll never reach the sky
Tell her she holds the key As long as she lives so will I As long as she lives I'll never die
