Death Bed Poem

Death Bed Poem

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

I watched my last sunrise

I've said all my goodbyes

Spoken to those I haven't in years

Had conversations filled with tears

I've accepted my death

I'm waiting to take my last breath

Everything will be alright

I'm returning home tomorrow night

There are things I'll never do

Dreams that won't come true

I'll never become someone's wife

Still I've had a fulfilling life

I watched my last sunset

Jesus will catch me in his net

Don't worry I'll be alright

Soon I'll be a part of the light

I'm grateful for the time I've had

I'm not bitter or sad

I'm on my way to meet my King
To listen to the choir sing
