A BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY

A BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY

A Poem by hanir

"A BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY"
Broken strings,
Missed notes,
Everything seems out of tune.
She continues to play the melancholic melody of the past.
Her songs depict infinite sadness...
Caused by the tragic death of her one true love.
She's holding on to what she calls a bittersweet symphony.
But I wish she'd let go soon.
I wish...

Beautiful use of words. The strong description brought to life song, struggle and the bittersweet symphony of love. I could add a epic poem from your words here. You are a talented writer. I believe we need good words to make us write. I appreciate your outstanding poetry.

Melancholic. Such sadness and longing. Had a piece I was going to write similar to this of a woman who lost her husband who was a pianist. She could still hear him play every night. Turned into something else and I titled it "Blood in the Key of a Jealous C". Took a different turn indeed. Love your piece though.

So glad to hear that! Thanks for taking time to read. I appreciate it.
First, the title is great as well as the last two lines which paints a picture of personal longing. This makes a very vivid write to me that pulls on.."broken strings"..my heartstrings. That is not a suggestion of change but what you made me feel.

I do have one suggestion:

melancholic melody--this tripped up the flow for me a little.

maybe..

inconsolable melody of the past

Hope this helps. I look forward to reading more!

Another poem about loss...A bittersweet symphony - love is like that, bitter and sweet at the same time. But a love lost to death is a true tragedy which you have managed to captured so perfectly with your words.

A dead soul is sometimes more painful to watch than a dead person, weird as it may sound.
