It's the same old story with you

It's the same old story with you

A Poem by Hannahcakes!

There you go again. It’s always the same story with you.

Go drink another bottle just to apologize to everyone later.

It gets old, but it’s never left unsaid.

And I can’t help but think how I could have filled the emptiness you long to let go.

But your talk is cheap and if I wait around any longer,

It might start to get to me again.

I’ve finally stood up on my own feet,

But my knees are still weak from the fall.

I'll probably wait up all night again,

Cause you know i'm expecting the call.

But I never wanted it to mean this much to me.

You have a way of reeling me in,

even when I know you'll let me fall.

It's only better to have loved and lost,

if you've lost and forgotten it all.

This was a good piece. It really spoke to me, for I seem to be in the same position. I hope all is well with you. Keep writing like you do. It's great.
