Closed Door

Closed Door

A Poem by Hannahcakes!

He's a closed door
and this time it's gonna take a lot more to crack him open.
he's not hopeless, but his heart is on the floor.
a million shattered pieces tell a story that is broken.
it's been a while, but these feelings refuse to fade.
like the leaves of an autumn tree they fall in all shades.

but he keeps moving forward and hopes for the best.
still there's a painful beating when she walks by in his chest.
another year passes with little to show,
the boy is still weak but continues to grow.

one day a girl sees this mess of a boy; she is head over heels.
her heart is full of love, he doesnt know how she feels.
but as days fly by, he begins to see.
he whispers to himself "this girl is perfect for me"

their friendship blossomed and grew so fast
she made him happy; he forgot about his past.
he made her laugh and he held her tight.
she'd never felt safer in anyone's arms as that night.
they talked on the phone for hours at a time,
so it seems a love like this is impossible to find.

so keep looking up when everything else is pointing down
the world has a funny way of turning right around.
true love is real and worth waiting for,
you won't find it in 6-packs at the local convenience store.
so don't give up at the first sign of pain.
after all, what's a rainbow without any rain?

nice touch at the end!!! i thought maybe it transitioned too fast, but it was really good, and cute. ^^ it's well done and you're good at rhymes, better than i could ever do. it's tough to do. XD good job, though, and keep it up!
