Dear DaddyA Poem by New DawnWritten for 'once upon a poem' - Hansel and Grettel question their fathers motivesWhat weakness of character allows you to decieve two motherless children on the whim of a harlot? What had she to offer that you would deem it acceptable to leave loved ones in such peril. We had thought you loved us, a devoted ,if distant, father and yet here you are leading us with false cheer, on another 'ramble' into the woods.
What will you tell people? How will you explain our loss? And when you return to the arms of that witch will you tell yourself that you had no choice, dear Daddy, NO CHOICE !! You won't be the first man to tell himself such lies, but you were our man and we had hoped for better. © 2012 New DawnAuthor's Note
