Empty chair PoemA Poem by harlowI sit and cradle all he loved My heart upon my sleeve His chair and slippers where he left them His aftershave lingers in the air If I look with longing at his chair I’m sure I see him in it He turns his head and smiles at me , winks with cheeky ease I move my tired limbs and watch the chair vacated Sure that my love my dear old friend Is sitting there beside me Should I ask him about his day Or just let the rest take care I long to chat and kiss his check But I know no longer will he come Still I feel as if he never left © 2011 harlowFeatured Review
