Never Surrender your Light

Never Surrender your Light

A Poem by harlem_knight

Whats inside of you, dear, holds the light of the universe.
They like to say its nothing but blackness out there but its all a lie.
They fail to account for the stars.
We’ve seen blackness.
The type of unapologetic dark that eyelids are made of; it spreads as wide as pupils can cover until faces are indistinguable. Yes we have all seen black.
Where depression enjoys a chaotic slumber on the bed you made and axiety sits curled up in a ball with an insatiable appetite for light; not one single person is a stranger to the darkness.
But I must say…
when the blackness arise, however enticing, I must urge you to never surrender your light, because whats inside of you, dear, holds the light of the universe.
And so much depends on this.
