THis could be a children's nursery rhyme (you know the ones, that little girls sing while jumping rope). i love that. So innocent and magical. You did a great job with this, and it could even have a deeper meaning, as so many children's rhymes do. I love the twist in the end, speaks volumes on the way we live our lives. Could be about hypocrites, or someone in love with someone they shouldn't be, or religion. I could go on. But I really liked this. Going into my favorites.
This was refreshing and unique. I have not read many poems that make me laugh...but this is one of them. I love that you paint a picture, simple, clear, and concise. I really hate when some people add so many details that they get lost themselves making it even harder for the reader, like me, to know what they are talking about. You, on the other hand, made me laugh with this simply delectable poem!
"Perhaps a potion would let me live in the ocean
But sadly I'm a human
I'm a human
Sadly I'm a human and a fisherman",
this stanza made me laugh! This poem is funny and different from other poems I have read on here. This is great :) Keep writing!
My birthday is the 26th of May 1992.
