A Good Friend

A Good Friend.

In the darkness of my sorrows,

And in the coldness of my tears.

I looked for comfort,

But found none.

 

Not till I opened the window,

And let the light glimmer

That an image appeared.

 

It was a smile so uplifting

With eyes full of care.

It was then I realized,

I was in the presence

Of a good friend.
