Where Are The Children?

Each day a child is taken away
from someone they love in a special way.

Their world becomes lonely and cold
because of the things they have been told.

Each night they go to sleep with fear
as each cheek glistens with a tear.

"Where are my Mom and Dad?"
has been silently cried
but their thoughts alone they must hide.

Then one day someone comes to see
and the child can only say

"But I thought they didn't love me."
