CAPTURING TIMEA Poem by HelenaInspired by Tovli's West Virginia Writers & Poets Workshop "Dual-prompt" contest.
CAPTURING TIME
I try to capture time… As the south wind blows Frost melts the pale Morning sun
I paint ghosts and barbed wire fences Still you stay my kindred spirits As a love that fills my heart And breaks my soul
Reaching across years I see your faces Pleading…..why? Hands reaching Across time…
I pick up my heavy brush Paint what needs to be said Tears have blurred my eyes Not the visions ~
All these lifted arms linked together These numberless feet treading So close together....
~
