Track one was a bit twangy and purposefully underproduced
It spoke of desire to strip away the capitalist sheath and cleanse
It wasn’t a protest really, just an observation on the suffering of man
And the possibility of letting go of things we grip too tight
Track three was the one talked to my heart, it made me ache
in the best way
When he described the girl with the bangles on her wrists and wet hair
I felt as though I knew her and had longed for her since I was old enough to
lust
I was carnival glass by the end and felt I could shatter at her slightest touch
Track eight was crescent shaped and waxed and waned, the
trumpets, wow, the trumpets
I danced and peeled potatoes, the puppins skittering around my feet in case I
dropped a peel
We were breathless and smiling, dogs can smile, after all they feed on and spread
happiness
I ruffled their fur and made kissing noises and they barked and ran in circles
My soul is lighter, bathed in music, my outlook shines with
the rhythm of the bass
My favorites rarely disappoint and I hope that I don’t disappoint in my
assessments
I am inviting you over for listen and a laugh, dancing may be required
But with those legs and that smile, the only thing I can think of is you,
dancing
