Blackbird

Blackbird

A Poem by EleanorMae
"

Poem. Sometimes, your just not quite ready. Inspired by the Beatles' song, "Blackbird"

"
Blackbird's there, in the old Willow tree,
Look there, she's staring down at me;
"Come," she says, "Don't be afraid",
I stare up at her, my eyes full of fear, my arms raised;
Then, I sigh, ashamed, "I'm just not ready to go today."
I turn around, breaking promises, breaking bonding ties;
See, Blackbird knows I'm not ready to fly,
Blackbird knows I'm not ready to say goodbye.

A sad poem… I took from it that you/the character isn't ready to leave or let go just yet. I liked how you used the blackbird, too. Great job! It's now sitting pretty in my library.
