Vienna

Vienna

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

Beautiful is Vienna when overwhelmed by stars

And the cool wind puts a hand to your wine-induced

Russet cheek

In the garden where you ate:

Nur ein Butterbrotchen mit Kaffee

The sounds of laughter slowly die

As the people leave the corner café

There is only one thing missing…

And love letters pulse from the tips of your fingers

Onto crisp ivory parchment

Ach, nichts ist mir schoener als du

Tap, tap, tap sings the leaky faucet

Everything is perfect

Tonight, I’ll die of loneliness

Tomorrow, I’ll seek her heart

Tourist’s map in hand
