Hands

Hands

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise

Hands

How dare, cold hands without desire and understanding touch me.
I take my sword and slash and slaughter the lifeless forms.
With boldness and desire, warm hands reach towards me and touch me.
I take my hands and embrace them and draw them close to my beating heart.

Two different forms but of the same likeness and beauty.
One my heart must push away because the coldness freezes my soul.
The other I draw towards my soul as it lightens my spirit.
My heart thaws and beats anew with excitement and joy.

My hands write to express that which cannot be explained.
My eyes read words written long ago to understand the unfathomable.
Both help to integrate my soul, spirit and mind.
In the cold waters of reality and imagination, my naked body floats.
All the while, the gyre that is me spins as it becomes body and soul.

Dreams of the soul become me and make me the body beautiful.
Beauty's cruelness and wisdom prattle on as the tide divides.
It all deforms the body, mind and soul and bends the heart.
Hands of coldness and hotness reach into the turbulent vortex that is me.
However, I spin so fast the visible world will not prevail, and I twirl on.

One must beware of who touches the body mind and soul
It's dangerous once you have the wrong ones touching you

tada da daaaaaaaa
love takes more than just looks, takes heart too...

i agree with Nessly...lots of dark images...but a mixture...you paint the picture of the shallow lover who won't last and the one who really loves deeply...and is not in it for what she can get.

Thanks for your review. I am glad what I was trying to convey people are seeing and understanding.
Ewe... All of the imagery regarding hands kind of creeped me out a bit. You've definitely done a splendid job painting a picture in my head. I really enjoyed reading this piece.
