Warrior Poet Zen 1-3

I think of the ugly matter of strife, and it troubles me.

It makes no difference if it is one-sided or two,

We must try with all our abilities to resolve.

Make apologies for any offense we may have caused.

If that is not accepted and only brings more strife,

We must dust off our sandals and move on.

but walking away from a fight might take more courage than drawing toward it.
