I Will Always Love You

This is an old one I wrote to my ex.

 

You know I'll always love you

Until the end of time

But now I can't be around you

I just can't pretend that I'm fine.

 

I will never forget 

Our time together

I will never regret

Being with you.

 

But I can't be around anymore

After all the pain

You put me through.

 

I told you the first time 

That I would let it go.

 

How I could be

So naive

Is beyond me

I don't know.

 

I forgave you

And I will never live it down

Because you kicked me

When I was already on the ground.

 

But in a way

Your betrayal

Was exactly what I needed

 

Because now

That somebody I trusted 

Has hurt me

I know that 

I will never be

That naive, ignorant little girl

Who automatically 

Trusts the whole world.

 

All this because of the one person

Who let me down.
