when you see the moonA Poem by honeyfor distant lovers…
before there was breath, there was us -
two sparks tangled in the quiet dark, born from the same burst of creation, separated only so we could learn the ache of reunion. across lifetimes, across light-years, i still feel your pull. when you see the moon, i hope you think of me. we learned to speak in echoes - your laughter found me through the stars, a sound the universe still hums in my chest. even silence bends toward your name. when you laugh with the moon, i hope you think of me. i’ve seen you in dreams the color of twilight, your body swaying with the silver wind, dancing where the ocean meets the night - as if the world itself were made from our remembering. when you dance with the moon, i hope you think of me. some nights i feel your whisper through the dark, gentle as breath, sharp as longing. i pour my soul into the sky and hope she carries it to you - my hearts message, hidden within her glow. when you whisper to the moon, i hope you think of me. and when the stars forget their names, and even time exhales its final breath, i’ll still reach for you - a tide drawn to its twin in the sky, a promise etched in the shimmer of eternity. and when you have no more words, only the unsteady beats of your yearning heart, when you cry to the moon, i hope she hears your plea. when you see the moon, i hope you think of me… © 2025 honeyAuthor's Note
