Getting even

PROLOGUE
Yes today is going to be his final day on earth. I look so calm and innocent, perhaps you could see me and think I was just a rich spoilt kid with no worries at all. You may consider me a beauty queen who got all men’s attention or I could even pass for the dumb, beautiful wife of a well respected millionaire. I don’t pass for a murderer at all, my features don’t even support that, I appear too delicate.
Ok, let’s get something straight…. I’m not a murderer but that son of a b***h is going to pay for everything he’s got me through. I’m so miserable right now. He’s turned me into an alcoholic and a smoker…. I look so pathetic, I’ve been home all by myself, crying, laughing, screaming and calming myself down… My room is a mess. I stink and my room could pass for that of a drug addict. So, I get up from where I lay all day, I open my locker and bring out the gun I got from Seth the nice dealer. Seth has taught me how to use the gun well and he was so happy I learnt very fast.
That arrogant son of a b***h! My body shakes with so much rage as I whisper his name, ‘TONY’……I know what you’re thinking, ”Who the hell is Tony right?” You’ll get to know who Tony is….So I bring out the last cigarette from the pack and lit it, I lift it to my lips as I feel a bit relieved to see my cigarette red hot…. What the hell turned me this way? It is LOVE… so overrated, When I see couples hugging and kissing and displaying all that public affection, I feel like dragging them apart and giving them the beating of their lives. I always want to warn the girl but my feet betray me so I just run off. I was once so much in love but I was a fool, a big one at that.
My name is Elizabeth Bright. It was 3 years ago when I met Tony, a very attractive white guy at the University. I was an easy going Christian girl and I knew where I was coming from. I am black and I don’t have rich parents to sponsor me through college. My Dad is Nigerian and my mum a black American…My Dad left when I was 12, Mum told me he already had another wife and kids in Nigeria and his new wife was the daughter of one of their politicians in Nigeria. I was very bright and was determined to make my mum very proud. When I was 18, I got a scholarship to study medicine in one of the Christian Universities. It was a long time since I saw mum so happy.
When I got into the University, I got so many advances from guys and I refused them all sweetly being the sweet girl I was. Then, I met Tony and I couldn’t just get my eyes off him that day. The first time he spoke to me, my heart skipped a beat. I was sitting in the library reading Anatomy when he pulled out the chair beside me and pretended to be reading and then he looked in my direction and said, “ How can a beauty queen like you study medicine, Girl, you’re a TV personality”. I smiled and said, ‘ Beautiful doesn’t mean dumb and fragile, you know? “. He let out a laughter that made me my heart shiver and said, ”I’m sorry Miss, I didn’t mean to….” Before, he finished speaking, I cut him off with, “It’s okay but I think before barging up on someone you’re meeting for the first time, a proper introduction will be of help”. Then I saw him blush or maybe I imagined it, “o o, I’m very sorry he said, I’m Anthony Springfield.” “oh wait a minute, Are you related to Nate Springfield, the vice chancellor” I asked. “Yes, he said, he’s my uncle” he said shyly.”Whao, I’m so honoured to meet you”, I said as I smiled. That was the beginning of the ‘LOVE’ story.
I’m sorry, I’m running out of time, Tony needs to die as soon as possible…. I’m in a state of euphoria , the coke is working so I laugh out hysterically as I pull out my jacket, wear my gloves and put the gun in the jacket.
