Crutch

Crutch

A Poem by Lexi Nicole
"

Be my crutch when my legs are not enough to keep me standing strong.

"

When I am weak
Take my hand in yours
And lend me your strength
And teach me to stand as tall as I can
And keep moving forward
With my head held high
Every time I fall down
Take my hand and help me up
And let me give it one more try

When I am weak
Take my hand and be my crutch
Lend me your shoulder to lean on
And teach me how to dance
Without a fear of falling
Teach me how to sing
Without a fear of someone hearing

Be my crutch
When my legs are not enough
To keep me standing strong

Be my crutch
Help me understand
I can be more than what they see

Be my crutch
When I find it difficult
To keep my chin up
And believe
That no matter how different
I may be
Nothing can stop me
From being me

Inspired by Ma Li and Zhai Xiaowei, beautiful and ultimately inspiring Chinese dancers. If you have not heard of them, do look them up. Be sure to grab yourself some Kleenex first, though. :3
