Sing Me Home

All the little notes scurry into a line
And the pounding of her heart keeps the time
Her voice glides out of her throat to the air
And all the people stop and stare
At the beautiful girl in this bleak little world
Shining a light brighter than stars above
Singing her sweet little love melodies
And he takes her hand and makes harmonies
And the people all around them hear their hearts in their ears
The two on the stage with voice like birds
Spread the light of their love to all of the world
And when all the lights go down on stage
And the drums stop and the guitars put away
The two will stand in the darkness alone
Wrapped in each others’ arms- their sweet, warm homes.

I liked the ending lines:
"And when all the lights go down on stage
