We said best friends and that was all
I’d be there every time you’d fall
And we’d sit and we’d talk about nothing at all
I’d share a joke or a silly little rhyme
And you’d be okay, every single time

Yet you couldn’t catch me whenever I’d fall
You said that you tried, you just didn’t know how
And then you’d make me believe you somehow

But every time I’d slip and fall
I’d lock it away, save that story for another day
Because you’d always need my help in some way

We said best friends and that all
But you left me behind, now you’ve left us all
And though we miss you with each passing day
I think we know now what we didn’t want to know then
We  were just pawns in your great master plan

I can’t be a pawn
That’s just not me
So I suppose ex best friends is all we can be

Excellent write!! I totally can relate to this, as my ex gf of nearly 5 years said that she'd be there for me thru any up's or downs, and everything inbetween of what i was goin thru. She even told me she loved me and everything. But, i knew somethin was up tho. She just didnt tell me anything. And when i found out what she had done, it hit me so hard, that it was like an implosion at 20,000 feet under the sea. Im trying to get over it; it's very--blech...it's Extremely hard, rather =/ Anyways...lonnng story lol. But, truly a great piece tho. I can really relate to it. Nice job!! :)
