Human first

Human first

A Poem by child of God

Tears"we can't deny them.
They are a part of us, woven in.
It doesn’t matter how strong you think you are,
You are human;
Therefore, you have emotions.
The way you raised us wasn’t right.
I cry, and you judge.
You say the McElroys are "strong,"
That I should "stop my whining."
But have you ever walked a mile in my feet?
Could you survive a day in my shoes?
Trust me: you would be crying too.
If I cannot cry to let the weight out,
Then I don't want to be a McElroy.
I am human first.
Crying is how I cope; it is how I survive.
I have heard enough of your insults.
If I am a "whinebag" in your eyes,
Then so be it, Steven McElroy.
I no longer care what you say.
I love you, Father,
But I love my Heavenly Father more.
He does not judge; He loves me for me.
So you have a choice:
Love me as I am, or don’t love me at all.
You cannot pick and choose the parts of me to keep.
You either love, or you hate.
I am at peace.
God is my Lord, my friend"
And your replacement

very well written to get your emotions across. small suggestions instead of "been in my feet" just because that doesn't grammatically make sense you might want to try "walk with my feet" I really like the thought behind this poem and how you have conveyed everything so clearly.
