the silent wail

A poem about immense emotional pain, hence about seeking a return to the pre-birth stage

no womb to take your tears to

the hurt, above you - you, only a petite full-grown

from a premature fetal fist - forced to let it lurk inside

the three hundred ninety grams of it all

as well as the mere seven pounds

not once

not twice

nor the nth time but

a content and eternal guest in you

i am impressed with the creativity in concept as well as in writing. this is work of depth, psychological layering, and thematic complexity. i love the "nth time" ending. perhaps some wombs are still, of yet, undiscovered. thank you for sharing your talent with us on this site.

This is a fine poem. To be a good poet you not only have to find the right words (which are right here) but have new, clever ideas. Probably getting the right idea is even harder than writing.Good work, great idea put into the right form.
