The LakeA Poem by BlueShadow
Lake in the park
My mom and I walk on the asphalt A somewhat circular trail that wraps itself around the sanctuary We can hear children laughing, dogs barking But we continue to walk and talk As we continue on walking we see something Something that we didn’t see before It looks like a pond but also like a lake It’s rather small but large enough for wildlife We see birds and lily pads Sparkling, glistening, shining Water that comes and goes in waves And we are mesmerized by its pristine nature The lake stands alone in the park But we are here with it The lake is quiet, accepting But we are here to sit Watching the lake Surrounded by verdant grass And amazed at its solitary nature We’re loved by the body We are always here To feel its hugging Its laughing its singing Its never ending motions Captivated © 2019 BlueShadow |
