Earthquake

Earthquake

A Poem by BlueShadow

Earthquake

Watching the TV, I grab the remote

I flip to another channel, this one about boats

It seems to me that it’s mostly about the ocean

When it should be about the sailboats’ motion

Once the TV program is over I go on outside

I see the sun and again I feel very high

The sun radiates with energy and warmth

I soak its rays and feel better at heart

While walking on the ground I go to the pool

Where adults and children alike rule

We swim and pretend to be like fish

Needing the water without being rich

The earthquake comes and I feel scared

The ground shakes and I feel the ground’s glare

The earthquake was scary and full of fear

But I smile instead, without any tears
