Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by BlueShadow

Sleep

We get up and get in our clothes

A brand new day has started

We know it will be full of highs and lows

Our enemies’ plans shall be thwarted

We go to work, school, or be lazy in our homes

Doing our routine, boring chores

It’s no fun doing mundane things alone

Together, we’ll open doors

Once the day is over and we finish our trudge

We go back home and get onto the sofa

Eating chips, soda, and fudge

Getting rid of the day’s hoopla

The crescent moon has gone up

And the sun has faded away

It’s time for a night of rest

No more of the sun’s rays

We get into bed and lay our heads on the pillows

Drawing up our covers over our bodies

Finally, we are ready to sleep

And end a day’s follies
