Time

Time

A Poem by BlueShadow

Time

I look on the white wall and see

The clock and am impressed by how

Even when it seems like it’s been five weeks

The clock’s arms only move to now

Time flows like a river in a forest

Quiet, undisturbed, marching to its own beat

Not cognizant of the pretty surrounding trees

It’s remarkable for it being so honest

As I look at the clock and pay attention to the teacher

My brain refocuses back on her banter

I lose focus of the time and again

I feel like it’s five AM
