Responsibility

Responsibility

A Story by BlueShadow

Being responsible means that you accept the blame for a wrong action, word, or thought that you may have caused. Responsibility means being accountable even when you really don’t want to be. The reason why people dislike responsibility is that they don’t want to take the blame for their own actions. Taking the blame often means a punishment for what you did, whether it be a jail sentence or a monetary fine. Responsibility is something that should be taken seriously because with it we can improve our character and moral sense. Responsibility means accepting that you did something wrong and that it was your fault. If we become more responsible as a society, we can help each other more and understand each other’s problems. However, there are steps to becoming more responsible. These include overcoming our psychology and overcoming insecurities. I will show what I mean soon.

Insecurity isn’t necessarily always a bad thing. Sometimes, being insecure helps us understand that we are flawed and that no one is truly perfect. Our flaws make us individual and help us love others more since we are able to understand that everyone has weaknesses. Being insecure means that you don’t feel like you are perfect, and that is perfectly fine. Insecurity just means that you accept your humanity and that being flawed is perfectly normal. Having flaws, like being selfish, impatient, or rude, just reminds us that we are people and not perfect. Responsibility means that we acknowledge our individual flaws and that we try to improve ourselves bit by bit and day by day. Responsibility is a very difficult thing to improve upon. When we steal, lie, cheat, or do something wrong, we often feel a inner sense that what we did was morally lazy. Responsibility means that we try to become better as a person by accepting that we are not always honest with ourselves. Responsibility is something that all of us can improve. If we become more honest with ourselves, maybe the rate of crime and unhappiness will decrease. Responsibility is something that is important because it makes us examine our own flaws on a deeper level.

Being responsible forces us to acknowledge our dishonesty with our own perception of ourselves, and also makes us realize that we’re not perfect. Being flawed is fine, as long as you know what your imperfections are and what you can do to improve on them. Being imperfect is basically equivalent to being human. Let’s try to be more responsible, in other words, more accountable. Accountability makes us understand that we are just people and not gods. We are human and imperfect in many ways. When we value accountability to a new height, we will see ourselves differently. I hope I changed something in your mindset, heart, or vision. Being accountable for what you do will improve your character. Character is what we are when others aren’t looking.
