On HumilityA Story by BlueShadowHumility is a virtue that many of us aspire to improve upon. Being humble is difficult, because arrogance makes us feel good about ourselves. Arrogance is the emotion that makes us believe we are better than others. Arrogance makes people believe lies and makes them lie themselves. I admire true humility because true humility requires patience, experience, suffering, kindness, and honesty. If you really want to be humble, first you must ask yourself why you want to be humble in the first place. Humility makes us understand that everyone is equal even if we are different. Humans are humans no matter who they are or what they’re good at. Humility offers a correct perspective on the equality of different people and makes us understand that thinking deeply about something can reveal subtle truths. Humility is very important because every person is equal to one another. Being humble is difficult but rewarding. Let’s try to be humble for humility’s sake. Arrogance makes us believe lies since thinking you are better than someone else is a lie itself. Arrogance is like a drug because it makes us feel really good and better than others. Not falling into the trap of arrogance is difficult yet also rewarding in the long run. Arrogance is a difficult thing to overcome, but when you do, you will see and believe the truth. Truth often hurts, but it also sets you free. Lies are often comforting, but they trap you in a world of deception. Humility is painful, but allows us to understand the beauty of suffering for truth. To me, truth is very important because it is correct. Correctness is of supreme importance to me because it revolves around the idea of truth. If you become humble, your life will become better and less painful, even though humility is suffering at first. I hope I showed you why humility is so valuable to ourselves and others, and why arrogance is nothing but deception. © 2021 BlueShadow |
